What is Spread Betting?
Spread betting is a cost effective way of trading. Just like share trading you can speculate on stocks and shares but because there are no brokers there are no Brokers Fees and no Commissions. If you are a UK resident there is no Income Tax or Capital Gains Tax*.
Interactive Spread Betting Example
Spread Betting Markets
Like the above example you are not restricted to share trading, you can trade Stock Market Indices like the FTSE 100, the Dow 30, the Nikkei 225, the Indian Nifty 50 etc
You can also spread bet on a wide range of other financial markets like Crude Oil, Gold, Forex, Interest Rates etc
As the above example shows, with Spread Betting you do not have to speculate on the markets moving up in order to make a profit. With spread betting you can also Sell markets ie bet on them to go down
Why Spread Bet with Financial Spreads?
There are many reasons why we believe we are the best bet for both first time spread bettors and expert traders.
Value Spread Betting
Our spreads are permanently tight, they are not a special offer. By trading with us you will maximise your profits on every bet you win.
The FTSE 100 example above is the perfect example of how we keep our spreads narrow for all account holders, not just new accounts.
Just because our spreads are better value do not think that you will get a lesser service. Our customer service is second to none. If you want to speak to us just pick up the phone or email us and we will be happy to help.
Limited Risk Spread Betting
Spread betting is a high risk form of trading but at Financial Spreads we want you to enjoy your experience. We add an automatic stop-loss to every bet. This encourages you to understand your trade and helps you control your risk. Note that stop-losses are not guaranteed. See our Beginners Guide for more information.

Spread Betting Risks
Spread betting offers many benefits but it is important to note that it also carries a high level of risk to your capital. Make sure you only trade with money you can afford to lose. Whilst Financial Spreads offers compulsory stop-losses on all trades it is possible for you to lose more than your initial deposit. Note that stop-losses are not guaranteed. Before you spread bet, please ensure it matches your investment objectives and familiarise yourself with the risks involved.
Spread betting and CFD trading carry a high level of risk and you can lose more than your initial deposit so you should ensure spread betting or CFD trading meet your investment objectives and if necessary seek independent advice. Stops are automatically allocated to each trade and if triggered are subject to market gaps unless you specified for your trade to be guaranteed.
